You can keep the second DC in the scope of your migration. In one of the first steps of the kit I explain how to migrate FRS to DFSR and that needs to be performed only on the SBS 2008 as other DC's will follow automatically.
If you decide that you want to remove the second DC before you start the migration the steps are easy:
- Make sure the SBS 2008 owns the roles. Check that with netdom query fsmo. All the roles should be at the SBS 2008.
- On the other DC run 'dcpromo' from an elevated command prompt. It is the same procedure as in one of the last steps of the migration guide where we demote the SBS 2008.
- Clear out leftovers on the SBS 2008 DNS server, search for entries with the old DC. Also remove the old DC from Active Directory Sites and Services, if the old one is still listed there delete it.
It is really up to you what you do.
