Is it possible to move a small business from SBS 2011 to O365 without the need for an on-prem server at all?
They use Exchange, file & print services and RWW. They don't currently use Sharepoint.
They also have a second member server running Sage accounts and a bespoke LOB application (but I guess this could move to an Azure VM or something?)
They are a small enough business not to have to worry about migration, but to be able to start from scratch.
The migration path described in Cutover migration from Exchange Server 2010 on a SBS 2011 Standard to Office 365 actually pulls the users from your SBS 2011 Active Directory, creates Office 365 accounts and therefor also Azure accounts. Once that procedure has been done you could dump the on-premise Active Directory and join the workstations (must be Windows 10) to Azure AD.
