I'm trying to do my due diligence prior to a 3 month subscription. I have a client with a SBS 2011 using a company.local domain. Would like to change to corp.company.com to facilitate the change in SSL Certificate rules. Is this possible to do this in conjunction with your migration guides?

Did you read How to rename an Active Directory domain name of a Windows Server 2012 R2 with the Essentials Experience role installed? When Exchange Server is installed in your local domain there no way you can do a domain rename. What are you using those certificates for?
I have not read this link, but will. However, the server involved is an SBS2011 server utilizing RWW that I intend to move to a 2016 Hyper V Host splitting out AD and on prem exchange. Users are spread out across three states. The TLD is .com but the SBS2011 was setup as .local following practices in place in 2011 when setup. The cert is for the domain and autodiscover. OWA. I was hoping there was a way to do this during migration to new hardware and Server OS.
You can set up Exchange Server 2016 with any certificate from an official CA, even with a .local domain used as a local domain. Changing the internal domain to anything else is impossible when Exchange is part of the AD.
