Understanding Active Directory Health during an Active Directory migration and tools you can use like repadmin and dcdiag

Click to discuss this tutorial in the forums One of the pitfalls I see during the mentor sessions I do with clients performing a migration from one Domain Controller to another like a migration from any version of SBS to a newer Windows Server 20xx Essentials server is that Active Directory health is not checked before the introduction of a replica Domain Controller nor is health checked during initial replication between the partners.

If then after some time FSMO roles are moved and the old server is demoted all of a sudden problems occur because there were failures during replication.
