Migrate printers from an old SBS 2008 or 2011 to a new Windows Server 2016 with or without the Essentials Experience role

We assume you already have installed the new Windows Server 2016 and also installed the Print and Documents Services role. This procedure can be done before or after you have promoted the new server to be replica domain controller as described in How to migrate from SBS 2011 to Windows Server 2016 (Essentials) or How to migrate from SBS 2008 to Windows Server 2016 (Essentials), as long as the Windows Server 2016 is joined to the domain you can continue with migrating printers.
